![]() A native of Aspen, Colorado, horses have been a constant presence in my life since early childhood. Because of that influence, I attended Colorado State University, where I pursued a diverse course of study in subjects such as equine anatomy, nutrition and disease, farrier science, pasture management, and teaching and training. I earned my bachelor's degree in Equine Science in 1992. Since graduating I have been a full time equine professional. I’ve managed a large horse boarding and training facility, worked for 4 years as a large animal veterinary assistant, and dedicated myself to learning as much as possible about every aspect of the horse. I have taught riding and horse management to people of all abilities and disciplines, and have developed and implemented my own unique training and rehabilitation methodology. In 2003 I earned my practitioner certification in the Equine Touch, a remarkably effective new modality, and I became the Senior ET Instructor in the United States in 2004. I have fused my skills, knowledge, and experience into a "whole horse" perspective that I apply to my rehabilitation work, working closely with both horse and rider to address a wide range of problems, from chronic pain and lameness to performance enhancement, tack fitting, nutrition, and improving rider balance and confidence. Ultimately, I believe this to be the best way to restore and maintain optimum health, balance, soundness, and performance. |
