This class provides a unique opportunity for deep self exploration into our movement and postural habits. These are movements are tailored to riders to help them gain awareness in: being a presence that does not disturb the horse's balance; gaining self-knowledge to change a pattern of discomfort; awakening the mind's conscious control of movement and agility; restoration of comfort and health for horse and rider.

BioSomatic Training for the Horse and Rider
Horses and riders often carry tension that they are unaware of. Left unattended these stresses can lead to lameness, disease or training issues. My passion is teaching owners how to recognize these patterns in themselves and their horses and learn exercises that support their release. The result: significant changes in posture and balance of you and your horse, improving trainability and reducing risk of injury. These classes are designed to give you a foundation for working with your horses in this way. Bring your own horse or ride one of mine.

Visual Imagery and Intention in Riding:
How the mind and body affect our intention in riding and training situations
Jill Soffer has generously offered to host this unique workshop on her gorgeous property at the base of Basalt Mountain, overlooking the resevoir and Mount Sopris. I can think of no better place to explore the use of visual imagery and intention in our riding. The use of visual imagery to enhance athletic performance, increase body awareness and change patterns of behavior has been used for many years now. We will explore this practice and then apply what we've learned on a trail ride. What better way to spend a fall day in the mountains!
